Alot – is not a word it should be written a lot

A lot – very much; a great deal; to a large extent; frequently or often

    We like to go to the park a lot.
    There are a lot of students in our class.
    My friend has a lot of dogs.
    There was a lot of food at the picnic today.
    I am feeling a lot better.
    The girls get sick a lot.
    I am feeling a lot better after my surgery.
